	Sign-In  Register            Speaking Development Events (SDE) The SDE Committee was formed to solicit input from the districts to begin the development of policies regarding participation and advancement in the speaking contests. The committee will make recommendations to the area about the number and types of awards presented, as well as a speaking schedule and rotation for the event. The procurement of qualified judges is another important factor of consideration to ensure that each contestant is judged by competent and caring judges. A uniform scoring method is also important and this committee will work to ensure there is fairness and integrity throughout the scoring processes. The committee will work closely with the Area Convention Committee since there will be overlap between speaking contestants and other competitive awards contestants as well as possible officer candidates.
